Our Story
Summit Edge Communications is a division of Summit Edge Holdings Ltd, based in Nyeri, Kenya. We were founded to give Kenyan and East African organisations access to communications counsel that combines senior editorial experience, ethical rigour, and a deep understanding of the region’s media and policy landscape.
Summit Edge Communications was founded to solve one problem: too many important stories go untold, and too many important reputations go unmanaged. Government institutions, parastatals, NGOs, multinational corporates, growth-stage businesses, and prominent individuals across East Africa and beyond all face the same challenge: the right audiences aren’t hearing them, or aren’t hearing them the way they should.
As a strategic business unit of Summit Edge Holdings Ltd, we combine institutional-grade governance and business acumen with sharp, hands-on communications practice. That dual foundation is what allows us to operate credibly in boardrooms, cabinets, newsrooms, and communities alike.
We have worked with government ministries and agencies, parastatals, NGOs and development partners, regional and multinational corporates, SMEs, and public figures — from Garissa to Nairobi, and across borders into the wider East African region. Summit Edge Communications is a Kenya-based communications consultancy founded on a simple conviction: strategy before services, and evidence before claims. Founder: Clement Masombo
Clement Masombo is a media and communications professional with more than nine years of experience producing research-driven, ethical, and audience-focused content on human rights, governance, environment, and community impact. He is currently a reporter at Standard Group PLC (KTN), covering governance, social justice, environmental issues, and community development for national and digital audiences.
Before joining the newsroom as a full-time news reporter, Clement worked as a videographer at Standard Group PLC from 2016 to 2021, producing documentaries, interviews, and field-based video content. His work spans the full production workflow, from filming, sound, and lighting to editing, often in sensitive and high-risk environments where he applied conflict-aware and safety-conscious practices to keep storytelling accurate and survivor-centred.
Since 2019, Clement has also worked as an independent media consultant and facilitator, designing and delivering training for journalists, civil society, and community groups. His programmes cover violent extremism and counter-terrorism reporting, data privacy and protection, and using media to amplify underrepresented voices, including training that equips indigenous women with media skills. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Technology (with IT) from Maseno University, and professional certifications from the Reuters Institute and the Voice of America. He has also trained in Peace and Conflict Resolution.
Clement founded Summit Edge Communications to put this experience to work for organisations across Kenya, helping them communicate with the same credibility, care, and impact that the region’s audiences deserve.
